Origin of Gardenia 'crown jewel'

A recent American horticultural cultivar by Philip Dark. A hybrid between Gardenia 'Chuck Hayes', giving it its hardiness and double flowers, and Gardenia 'Kleim's hardy', giving it its abundant flowering.
